recommendation for a gel seat pad for my hardrock.
Hi All. I got a new Specialized hardrock yesterday. So far so good. I like the bike, but the stock seat sucks! Can anyone suggestion a gel seat pad or a new seat all together with A LO more cushion.
Thanks - JP |
If you don't like the saddle, get a new one. Seat pads move all over the place when you're riding.

Maybe your ass just isn't used to it or you've got the saddle adjusted improperly. Sometimes you just need to get used to a bicycle saddle. I hear the gel pads aren't too good for your boys.

Gel pads = crap. Once your butt gets used to the harder seats they are MUCH more comfortable for long distances. Give it a few days.

Years ago I was riding the KATY trail. As I passed through one of the gates I saw that somebody had left a fairly new-looking gel seat pad atop the gate post. I don't think whoever did that liked it very much.

Unless I have springs my back hurts.

i agree with the hard saddle = better idea.
i used to ride around on an old used cheap saddle which was soft. started killing me on longer road rides when i'd ride for 3 hours. i bought nice light thin hard saddle and it's great! my ass is starting to harden up to it, but the "other" pain has gone away :) how many riders here ride with leather saddles? |
