an observation

I noticed the bicycling market is alot like the motorcycle market!

road bicycles are kinda like those Japanese sportbikes, heck you even sit in the same position

mountain bikes are kinda like those Moto-cross bikes

and Cruisers are kinda like those choppers and Harleys

You may think to your self, and say this is stupid, and you know what?,...........it is!!!!!!!!!!

Not only that, you can spend as much on a bicycle as you would on a motorcycle!

The price of a top quality bike is as much as an entry level crotch rocket or mid level dirt bike.

Don't beleive it just price a top of the line Litespeed with full Dura Ace, all carbon accessories, Ksyrium SSC SL wheelset and top grade tires, saddle, cyclocomputer with HRM, and all required goodies to keep you rolling from ride to ride.

Ridiculous but we keep paying it. Make you wonder how smart we really are.

The only thing we cyclists don't do that the motorheads do is drag racing, but then we have DS.

The last 200km's of almost any road race is essentially a drag race.

Wow. 200 km is a hell of a sprint.

Actually, the Northwest conference had a drag race at one of the events last year. It was a 1/4 mile at a race track in Spokane. It was really cool, as it was basically just a huge sprint and gearing was really important. You wanted to be in your big ring from the start, since shifting to it partway through the race could cost you precious tenths of a second.
