Anyone tried this Bike Carrier Solution.

I have a Yakima bike carrier which fits into my Class V hitch mount (2 inch) on my Yukon XL. Works well, but gas mileage on the Yukon is only 15 MPG. I want to use this carrier on my Accord (34MPG), but I cant find a hitch with a 2 inch receiver. The only way it will work is to mount a Class II hitch with a 1.25 inch receiver and then put a 1.25 to 2 inch adapter on.

Has anyone tried this?

I have seen this done by others; it is no big deal. Keep in mind the allowable trailer tongue weight of your vehicle, and an extension will reduce your ground clearance at dips in the road or driveway entrances.
