Whats the point of a helmet visor?
Does it really block out that much sun? What if you ride with sunglasses?

It helps with sun even with sunglasses. In rain it helps keep rain from getting between your eyes and glasses.

Makes it difficult to see where you are going when riding in the drops. Thus, allowing you to destroy your bike and then funding your LBS when you need a new bike. All because of a silly visor. They also contribute to global warming.

I find the drops quite comfortable, so I'd not go that route. Helmet visors are supposed to be fred traits. Don't care, I find it helpful with the sun's glare.

I think the design of most visors on helmets pretty much suck. I took the visor off mine. When I want a visor I wear one in addition to the helmet. Shades my eyes better and the sweat band of the visor works better to keep rain and sweat out of my eyes.

A helmet visor is for folks that have not yet discovered cycling caps.

If you're going to wear a helmet and are sensitive to sun glare, visors help. They do not get in the way at all when you are in the drops.

Typically if you see a visor on a helmet, it will be listed as a mountain biking model... Thus the issue of whether the visor is an issue in the drops doesn't apply.

I've got a visor. I've not noticed much of a difference with or without the sunglasses on. No problems with rain on mine either.
