Pedal Questions...

I know for certain I want to use pedals and toe clips BUT where I could use some help is this-

Anyone have any opinions/experiences with the MKS GR-9 platform pedal as well as the MKS Touring pedal??
Primarily my concern between the two is that the platform pedal (GR-9) isn't going to give me enough coverage under my shoe and that the Touring pedal while much more wide than the GR-9 will give me problems with getting my feet in and out of the clips because of its teeth.

Also, I wear a size 9 1/2 shoe BUT haven't fully decided nor come across a shoe that I will wear mostly while riding so what size clips should I get... I'm thinking large BUT then again if I go for a low cut hiking type boot on our bike tour perhaps Xtra-Large will make more sense.

I do know this much... my feet tend to ache in the arches when riding if the pedal is too small surface-wise.

Opinions, thoughts, donations?

Thanks!

I prefer the touring model to the platform model. I have no problem with the serrated edges. They soon wear down, and as long as you dont cinch your straps tight, entry and exit is very easy.
I use L clips for my size 9, with trail shoes, but an XL may be better for your boots. Most trail shoes and boots have fairly stiff soles, so you wont feel the pedals. Ive done hundreds of long day rides on mine.
