    At the supermarket...

Since there are about three grocery stores within a four mile radius of my home, I rarely ever have to take my car. With the exception of unusually heavy and/or bulky items, almost anything I need can be stuffed into my rack-trunk, backpack, or panniers; and I even manage to get a little workout in the process (turrain is moderately hilly). All without polluting the air, consuming a diminishing natural resource, or adding to the already supercongested roads.

As I pulled up to the store on Monday, for some pre-holiday-dinner shopping, an woman stopped me and thanked me profusely for not driving; said, "There are too many cars on the road; it's good to see someone not adding to the smog..."

I had a massive SEG on the ride home.

(SEG = S**t Eating Grin for all you sick wankers out there).

Cycling/walking have their own rewards, in addition to the savings.

It's as if we were "made to walk." (or bike.)
    No worries

Well, of course. People are hesitant to interact with 900-lb gorillas, even carrying sacks of provisions. A cuddly teddy bear, on the other hand, always gets a smile and a pat on the head.

The ironic thing is that gorillas are quite friendly, and that koala bears are nasty little bastards...

That is DCO, Man (DCO = Double COol - O- ).

First, you ride your bike to do shopping.

Second, some spouse-o-licious lady told you that you are cool which, in "woman language" means you are hot and she will be looking for you again in the fresh fruits and veggies department next time.

Hey, you'd be grumpy too, if all you got to eat was eucalyptus leaves...

Yeah they probably reek like Vicks.
    Litespeed, lasts a lifetime.

Specialized Tarmac, lasts a lifetime, or until it breaks.

Strangely enough, I've hardly ever seen any koalas on my rides.
