In India, bicycles are your whole livelihood, it's like burning down your shop. Where u are gentlemen, u lost bike, u will live.

Well my bikes worth alot, I had to work hard for that bike to pay it off, if someone tryed to steal it or did, I hope they get the **** kicked out of them, infact, I hope i'm the one doing it, or them on the bike being hit by a train would do, as long as they get what they deserve, JUSTICE SERVED! lol

Only problem I see with vigilante justice would the getting slammed by a PO'ed JAM because of some perceived slight, such as slowing him down for a few nanoseconds on his rush to Starbucks.

The thief was probably a Dalit. The police would have done more to protect an upper cast person.

Probably very true. Had the thief been Brahman caste, they would probably have called the riot people in to disperse the crowd.

In India, people are more connected to their communities, so mob 'vigilantism' and shame based justice are more prevalent and accepted than the way we do things here with fines and laywers and cops.

Things to be said about it either way. They have less crime since people know each other. And our justice system can tend to be too impersonal and innefecient...
