    Where to get torque hex key wrench?

    I want to adjust the seat on my P2C higher and lower. My LBS has told me that I have to use a torque wrench to do this. So I need a allen torque wrench. Anyone know where to get an inexpensive one?

    Besides mailorder, Harbor freight has retail outlets in various cities. there is also an inch-pound version .you will need to buy a hex socket in the correct size.

    I would think any torque wrench capable of measuring in the right range plus an allen-wrench socket. Note that some of the automotive torque wrenches may not accurately measure small enough torques for your needs.

    ritchey torquekey. about 20 bucks,
    only comes in 4mm, i think it measures 5nm.

    if you like to work on your bikes, BBB - a relatively new player on the north american bike parts wholesaler scene - has a BBB branded one for 85 bucks that does bike torque 2-24 newton meters. comes with a set of maybe 3-10mm allen key drivers which is very convenient.

    Are you riding a Cervelo P2C? If that local bike shop sold that to you, they better adjust it right. Saddle height is part of a greater dynamics of fit especially for a P2C which is for full on racing.

    You can usually borrow things like torque wrenches from auto supply stores.

    I am going to buy the torque wrench at Nashbar. It is $50.00.

    Yes I had a 3 hour fitting done at the bike store where I purchased the Cervelo. But what I want to do is mark where everything is now and then play around with the fit compared to watts generated when my PowerTap comes.

    I was shocked how much faster I became when I originally got the bike fitted compared to my road bike. I believe a big part of the difference was the height of the seat. The Cervelo dealer raised the seat a ton. I then started getting cramps but knee pain seemed less. So when I went back for another fitting he lowered the seat a little. BUt I think I might have lost some power. I believe the calf cramps were caused by over training, and pointing my toes while riding. I want to see on my own if I can raise the seat a little but learn to ride more flat footed and increase wattage a little.

    I am finding all of this very interesting and want to learn more. But too much hassle to always be going back to the LBS. I want to start doing more on my own. Heck I have not even ever changed a tire.

    You don't need to spend $50. This one will do just fine.

    I found a set of hex bits at Lowes real cheap, too.

    Then you are most likely to know that the Cervelo web site has a users forum. Lots of Tri, TT riders there.
