hitch racks--inexpensive " drive ons?"

I am looking for a bike rack, and prefer the style that holds bike on a platform
rather than hanging...Both Thule (t2) and Yakima ( hold up) make a high end and lower priced
model..in the case of Yamika the " Stick up" for about $250...and there is a Thule model for a few more $.

I am leaning towards the cheaper one

My questions are:

1. Has anyone had experience with either?
2. Do you think I would give up much quality vs. the top end models--which sell for about $100 more.
3. Does anybody have a strong preference for Thule vs Yakima
4. any other advice?

thanks in advance

John
