    Bibs! FTW!

I've been wearing cycling shorts for a few years now and only recently thought about trying bib shorts.

Anyway, last week our dog chewed out the crotch of my favorite pair so I got off the dime and picked up a pair of bib shorts.

I wore them on my 25-mile commute, this morning and they are awesome! I didn't think that taking the waistband away would make that much difference, but I can't remember ever feeling this comfortable before.

Why didn't anyone tell me how much more comfortable they are? I see all sorts of threads about lycra-vs-cargo shorts, clipless-vs-platform, flat-bar-vs-drops-vs-comfort-vs-trekking bars, but I don't recall seeing anything about bibs-vs-waist-banded shorts.

Is this the best kept secret for cycling comfort?

Sorry if I sound a little giddy, but I am.
    That's gonna leave a mark.

There have been posts about Bibs. But once you get a pair you assume everyone else has them as well. The only slight drawback I have noticed concerns too much coffee at the pie shop.

I went to bibs in June & will never wear shorts again, I now own 6 bib shorts. Like you I was amazed at the comfort compared to shorts. Not to mention the whole butt-crack thing being a non issue any longer. I'll be buying 1 or 2 pair of nice bib-tights for the Winter.
