Just think of "all" of the places you could get road rash if you go down. Imagine a massive pile up with gears and chains buzzing like chain saws. No thanks. Maybe as a spectator though. :D

Sounds very risky. Seat's going to need a good scrubbing afterwards too...

Bikedud 03-04-04 11:53 AM

I just emailed our group ride leaders suggesting that we organize a naked ride on June 12. It's definetly a good way to draw attention to cycling and transportation issues (and a few other things). :)

Strange photo there at the naked.org. It seems as though it is completely dark out yet only a few are sporting "headlights." :roflmao:

I am glad to see nekkid bike riding is finally catching on! Of course, every day is a nekkid bike ride in Trollsville.

Excuse us? Why do you have to be so negative and judgemental about something that is simply about joy, freedom and creativity? Is this activity going to hurt you in any way? Maybe you should be looking inward to try and understand why something as simple, beautiful and harmless as a naked bike ride offends you so much...

Zin 03-04-04 06:58 PM

I think it sounds like fun! :)

However. I don't think most folks would appriciate my involvement. (lycra gets enough looks) :p

Eh, the hipsters in Williamsburg, Brooklyn tried to organize an "underwear ride" in January or so... I don't know how it worked out, but I remember seeing posters for it...

I'll bet the Underwear Nazi will be there.

Is there an exception where nudity is permitted if its as part of a peaceful, organised protest? :)

Unfortunate residue from this country's Puritan past. What a waste of tax dollars and police resources! Most willing participants will likely take their chances - it's a calculated risk, after all - with no consequences at all.

We have a yearly parade in one of our more laid back neighborhoods that features naked bike riders. The enforcement of the laws depends on the mood of city hall that year. Last year there was no arrest, one year they handed out tickets and one they tried to arrest all of them. I think maybe they finally gave up. hundreds (maybe even thousands) of people show up just to watch them.

Don't we need a Constitutional amendment banning this kind of thing? Y'know hasn't it been prohibited as a violation of the sanctity of something for well over 200 years.

Yep, this time of year you could hurt yourself doing that sort of thing. :D
