What kind of fenders will fit my bike!?

Sigh. I have a 2008 Diamondback Edgewood. Love the bike, don't love that I seem to be having problems getting the stuff I need for it!
Fenders, for one. It's got front suspension, but some of the fenders for that don't work. It doesn't work with the way they need to mount.
Also, my tires, which I love, are 700c x 40, and all the fenders I see are 35mm.

I am considering ordering Planet Bike's Cascadia Hybrid fenders. http://ecom1.planetbike.com/7026.html

It says they are 45mm width, though it also says they fit 35mm tires, which confuses me, but these are the widest I've seen.
Help?

I don't know anything about the 2008 Diamondback Edgewood. However, when it comes to fenders, the rule of thumb is that the fenders should be 10mm wider than your tire. So you if you have 40mm tires, you should have 50mm fenders. (Though generally fenders come in 35, 45, and 60mm sizes).

If the fenders are too small, you'll have a heck of a time mounting them, because they would need to be mounted closer to the tire.
