Can anybody identify this bike?

I just bought this bike from some girl on Craigslist for $160. I don't really care if I overpaid, since I've been having insane trouble finding someone actually not screw me over and set up to meet and sell the bike to someone else on the scheduled day. I'm just happy to finally have a decent bike!

I have no idea what kind of bike this is, but on the front there's a red "S" shape, with a black background. Would anybody happen to know the manufacturer/model by any chance?

PS. It's really weird how the middle is painted white, I'm not really sure what the deal with that was. O.o

EDIT: Forgot to post the pic, so I'll link it and post the pic, just incase. >.>

looks just like a bike i used to have. mine was a shogun. i got mine for $5 at a yardsale. but yours is in a bit better shape then mine was.

i've looked at it pretty closely and i'm pretty sure it's the same. same shifter location, same brake levers, same saddle, same grips.

Give us some more pictures. The other side or a close up of the head tube meeting the top tube.

I'll have to take some later, this was the pic from craigslist. I was hoping somebody would know the logo on the front.

I did find this old thread:

I find a couple of Shogun headbadges, but they don't look like that one.

I think those are aluminum rims whuch are way better than the steel rims that came on many bikes from the early 70s. Is the size of tires 27" or 700c, and are there 5 or 6 cog at the back wheel?
