Attending the Giro di Lombardia
Hi all,
Has anyone attended the Giro di Lombardia as a spectator? My wife and I will be in Bellagio on Oct. 18 and plan to watch the race from the slopes of the Madonna del Ghisallo climb, then go to the cycling museum at the top of the climb. We don't have a car, and my wife doesn't ride - can anyone recommend the best way to get to the top of the climb? I believe the climb is about 5 miles from Bellagio to the summit, all uphill. But is walking even an option? Are there sidewalks along the road?
I am thinking of renting a Vespa somewhere. We could take a taxi but I'm afraid of getting stranded at the top without a ride back.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Marc

One more thing - does anyone have info on the Lombardia course this year? I can't find any information on the course map, start time or cue sheet (or whatever the sheet is that says when the riders are expected to be a various checkpoints in the race).
