Purchasing new bike from online only retailer...thoughts - experiences??

Thinking of purchasing a new bike from an online retailer. It is bikes direct dat com. Wondering if other people have purchased bikes from there or other similar firms. I've checked out the site and it all seems on the up and up. Girlfriend bought a nice bike from there 2 yrs ago and everything great.

Do a search here for bikesdirect.com. Some people like them and some HATE them. The stated bike retail values are greatly overinflated, I've heard that some of the components are different than the spec and that the bike finish was not that great. Oh and I've heard that customer service was not that great.
