Best type of bike/setup for wheelies?

I've noticed that some bikes are much easier to ride a wheelie on than others. On my specialized Hardrock it is an effort to stay balanced where as other bikes I have ridden are much easier and I feel like I can ride a wheelie for a mile.

Is it in the geometry, handlebars, gearing?

no

it is your wheelie kung fu that needs help.

I have a friend who can ride a wheelie on any bike for hours. it is not the bike

when he wheelied my brompton for 10 miles I was convinced. he usually rides a
6 inch big hit bike
