So, who cycled (or will cycle) to go vote!

My voting station is right on my morning bike ride for me so it was a no brainer. Plus I love my zero emissions vote!

I was thinking about doing this very thing this afternoon.

I'm sure the parking lot will be full, it was at 5:30 this morning, I could drive home and ride my bike back to vote, parking would not be an issue.

I think the school where we vote even has a bike rack! I have never used a bike rack!

Rode my V-Rex to Early Vote last Friday. Took about 50 minutes to vote.

I road up to my polling station early this morning on this....



in the rain with hi-viz colors on . You'd have thought I was running for president
the way people were looking at me.

But, I was able to "park" close to the entrance get in/out in under 12 minutes.
(Parking was tight and people were waiting for car spots).

I'm wearing my "I voted" sticker on my helmet today.

The parking lot was completely filled, people parking all over the streets and generally cluster effing each other.

It was easy for me to ride in on my Kilo TT set up for commuting =)

I drove to vote - had just dropped the kid off at school, so was basically right there. But that was last Friday. The next day I rode with a bunch of friends and hung out with the bikes and read while they voted. No good bike racks nearby, so I was the bike bouncer

I took the elevator down to the lobby of my apartment building, and dropped my ballot in the outgoing mail box.

Ha, we could all use one of those. However most of us cyclists aren't really the bouncer type.

If some bike thief came by with a gun or something I'd be like here take this Next, see how "bouncy" it is, that is a HUGE selling feature.

My college is organizing people to lead bike caravans down to the closest polling place.

Luckily I already voted absentee so I don't have to stand in line.

I rode to vote. Problem: No racks to lock my bike. I found the only place to lock up, had another cyclist showed up to vote (highly unlikely), he would have had to bring it in with him. At least I had it easier than the motorists, who were cruising up and down the lot looking for spaces like last minute mall shoppers on Christmas Eve.

You know, I didn't even lock my bike up. I parked right by the door and the bike was visible almost the entire time (just not when the curtain was drawn).

My wife and I rode to the polling place this morning right after the morning rush.

I assume the highlight of the day was me leaving. The release on my right prosthetic hit the pedal as I was taking off allowing it to fall off. Of course my left foot was clipped in!!I only yelled out two words as my stub hit the asphalt.

My voting place was a Chevrolet dealership. It looked they they pulled up all of their Corvettes by the entrance too.

I hope you did that before today. Not sure where you are, but in california the mail-in ballots must be received, not just postmarked by 8pm today.

I wasn't going to vote today. I'm feeling rather disgruntled about it all.

However, If I leave work early, then I'll have time to vote! Sounds like a perfectly valid thing now.

I think the first time I ever drove (was driven) to vote was for our recent October 14th national election.

Every other time I either walked, ran, or cycled.

Much more sensible and efficient elections too. Ours took 5 weeks from the time an election was announced until the election day.

Rode 88.5 miles. Went to vote on the way home, rode right up to the front door.
One person ahead of me. In and out 1.5 minutes.

Yes.

And Yes. I biked to the poll location. There is road construction on the way there so I skipped through the park. I was in and out in 5 mins and I even had to register.

Yeah, I from Michigan originally, so Indiana voting is new to me. I skipped voting in 2004.

I voted today, but I wasn't able to leave work on time for the 1.5 hour ride back home to vote. So I rode part of the way, and called my ex-wife for a ride. She drove me the rest of the way. So I didn't ride my bike to vote, but it was in the back of the van
