Bike Mounts
Hey I need to get a roof rack for my Suburu Forrester-Yakima works best with the car. Any thoughts or feelings on getting a fork mount as oppossed to an upright mount...I think the fork mount looks cooler???
Thanks

Fork mounts put the stress in a place the bike is meant to carry stress. Uprights can place strain on the downtubes and are not recommended for particular frame materials. If you have a disc brake, be careful to get a disc-compatible tray. Also bear in mind, how easy/comfortable are you with removing your fron wheel often.
Not being able to decide when I bought my system I bought two of each. The fork mounts are always on the car, and the upright mounts only come on when I need the capacity.
Go Fork Mount!
