I have never been thought of as an obsessive consumer. Even critical of consumerism..I hate malls for starters.
But cycing addiction changes some aspects of my behavior. "VeloGear.com" has gotten my number and sends me their catagloue. Their stuff is really cool.
I am sure I have more jerseys than regular shirts.More cycling socks than regular socks.. MOst of my jerseys are serious. Favorite I got from Velo Gear is my commute to work, stamp out cars signa jersey..
But their latest catalogue..Features two jerseys I feel I need.
Anyone seen them...1- The "Full of Beans" Campbell soup jersey, identical to their the Campbells ad and 2- A jersey that looks like the wrapper on 'Wonder Bread." Poll. If you were a cycling jersey addict, would you favor the
Full of Beans soup can or the Wonder Bread jersey.

I can't support Wonder Bread, if it "helps you grow 9 ways" how come I wound up so short? Full of beans for me, although I had been looking at the U. Wis., AZ & NM flag jerseys. UW my alma mater, AZ & NM high marks for visibility.

Cyclezealot, I feel ya.
It's not like I don't have enough jerseys already, but I find myself lusting for these from Pearl Izumi...and the matching sox!
Of course, I have been saying for years that Twinkies and YooHoo are the best mid-ride foods.

I HAVE the Yoohoo jersey and matching socks - got it cheaply at the SF bikeswap last fall. (it's an inside joke about my OTHER obsession: roto baseball - where the winner gets a "Yoohoo shampoo")
But my wife will say I have the same affliction - can't seem to get enough biking clothing. 'course, I AM riding 7 days a week, weather permitting, which means I go through a hamper full of stuff in a typical week, so I need a certain complement of jerseys and shorts . I've only bought one thing I shouldn't have from a catalog - fit/design isn't what I expected; otherwise, I'm a happy camper with all my gear - and it does get used, so I don't feel badly.

Don't sweat your jersey obsession. My wife has 81 (yes, 10x8+1) jerseys. I have a drawer with nothing but Defeet(mostly) sox. I also have about a hundred bike related t-shirts.

hello
I thought I was sick........ Within the last 30 days, I bought 5 Brooks saddles, in three different models. Now my entire fleet has been Brookerized. But I still ended up with 4 new saddles with no bikes! Glad I'm not obsessed with jersies....... now that can really add up.

It would have been so much easier had Velo Gear not gotten my number..I go through their Spring catalog.. Besides the Full of Beans and Wonder Bread jersey, I WANT...The 'Spongbob', Grateful Dead, QuickStep, state of Colorado, and University of Michigan jerseys..All really cool...The State of New Mexico flag jersey is pretty impressive too.
Get a grip man...With so many jersey getting my attention, it makes it easier to say no to the "Full of Beans,' jersey.Think that is my top choice.

Allen..I cycle probably 4 times a week...Our washing machine has a mini load..Four days worth of cycling clothes would make for a pretty smelly hamper..I usally stuff a couple other items, so I feel I am not wasting water.
I fear if my cycling clohthes infected the other clothes in the hamper , I would get greater wrath from my wife... She claims my cycling clothes infects the household laundry just from the fact the items get washed together. Wish I could get out oh, six days a week...Then my cycling clothes would merit its own hamper.

I'm actually a bike bag junkie. I have so many cool and unusual bike bags and messenger bags and purse bags that double as messenger bags, etc. It's almost scary.
Picked up yet another couple of messenger bags yesterday at the Chicago Bike Show. Yikes! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllppppp!!!!! I got the messenger bag with the bike race pictures from Velo Gear, but I was also eyeing the Spongebob and the Wonder bread jerseys too. I literally had to be torn away from that booth!

I just saw that Campbell's soup jersey. I would love to pick that thing up but I can't justify the cost. I'm better served with a few cheaper plain jerseys.

I want the Spongebob socks. Not the jersey. Just the socks.
I'm kinda queer for socks.

Riph...At the cost of this jersey, It would take a lot of Green stamps..I would say closer to 15,000. That is lots of tomato soup.Chicken Noodle does not count.

There are so many great jerseys out there that I could buy a new one every week. I'll occasionally check out the clearance items at probikekit.com. I've gotten some great Euro team jerseys there. I was hinting mightily for a ONCE winter jersey for an Xmas present but no one got the hint.
