Oh wow like totally cool man !! (NOT) Please if this is CM's way of convincing the non riding world of how great bikes are it's no wonder we are where we are today.

"Notice: come join Critical Mass San Diego for it's December ride. Our route will include riding the halls of two local hospitals to prove that bikes belong. We may not know where bikes belong, but what the hell do you expect from a bunch of idiots like us."

I'm thinking that what would be really cool would be to ride through the local jail - or at least half way.

Kids hanging out at the mall ...

"to prove that bikes belong"
This footage proves that bikes belong
~on the wrong side of the road
~breezing through stop signs
~and under self-righteous clods.

Gee I wonder why some motorists' first response to us individual commuters is hostile?

+1

Here's my question --

What is it going to take for CMers to realize how idiotic they really appear?

So they protest their right to the roads, even though they even have legal rights to the roads.

It's like people protesting to make the sky blue. Um, it's blue already.

Just clicked the link to see what everyone was getting riled up about and discovered the video has been removed. I missed it. I then spent a few moments trimming a toe nail that's been bothering me since yesterday. The net result was that this was a very positive CM experience for me.

Okay, I'm a little confused here. I thought critical mass' purpose was to raise motorists awareness of cyclists. I did not think it was to go riding all over sidewalks tearing down street signs and terrorizing pedestrians. The only thing I saw in that video was white trash on bicycles I did not see anything that would promote the positive use of bicycles for transportation or improve opinions of bicyclists by motorists. :notamused:

Now that I've watched the vid...

Were they serious? Riding as a mob through someplace where it's pretty unsafe to ride as just an individual rider? Pedestrians walking everywhere, trying to get from store to store, and having to put up with a bunch of bikers who have nothing better to do than to claim a "right" to an area where they really have no business riding?

Damn... I try to ride everywhere, but no way I'd bother riding there. What stupidity.
