Universal Cycle Experience

About a month ago, I placed an order for a 2009 Surly Long Haul Trucker (LHT)... in Truckaccino!!! So of course I needed goodies for the new ride; pedals, rear rack, fenders, etc.

I got a seat bag, pump, water bottle cages and roadside repair stuff from my LBS.

I decided on SPD pedals, and was eyeballing a few thanks to suggestions in another thread I posted. I was hemming and hawing on which pedals.

My bike co-op, where I ordered my LHT from, sent me an e-mail saying the complete LHT's had arrived and are ready to ship from QBP. I figured I should get my pedals pronto like. After hours upon hours of web searching for pedal reviews, prices, and general info, I then came across a set of pedals that called to me.

I then searched for ONE place to buy the pedals, fenders, and rear rack I wanted. I came across Universal Cycles. They had the exact items I wanted. The prices were better than MSRP, but not as good as other prices I saw. Unfortunately, the better price places didn't have all the items I wanted.

I then checked out Universal Cycles 30 second price match. Holy guacamole!!!! Very cool. They weren't able to match all the prices, but came pretty damn close.

Again, their prices were good, but with the price match it brought the total from $270 down to $220. Shipping was chump change, like $7 for two boxes.

I ordered Monday evening late, and I just got the items tonight.

The order was correct, the prices were awesome, and they shipped quick. I've ordered from a few different places on Al Gore's Internet, and I read of many good places to deal with here at Bike Forums.

From here on out, the first place I go after my bike co-op and LBS will be Universal Cycles.

On a side note, there was a glitch with my LHT order, and by the time it got rectified, QBP was out of the LHT in my size... I'll have to wait until the next batch comes in... stuff happens. I am glad it's winter time and not April or beyond

Gotta back up the praise for Universal. Their prices are right, shipping charges are fair and honest, and their service is excellent. They've got two shipping locations; one on the west coast, one in the midwest, so the wait isn't too long either. Highly recommended.

One question asked.

One question responded to (but not answered precisely).

One order placed (price was as good as any).

Fork arrived on time as described in perfect condition.

Yes. I would order from them again.
