Yeah, I saw pretty much everything except the Devil when I was down there. Including a possum-thief. MInd you, after a decade in Queensland, I quite welcome the change of weather.

thanks Chris, beautiful photo's and places. Purlingbrook Falls is the photo that grabs me. your pics have made me want to travel to this part of the world soon.
Take care of your neck of the woods. We have had to fight to save our old growth forests here.

Yeah, I read somewhere that South East Queensland has the fastest rate of land clearing in the world, and I'd believe it. Purlingbrook Falls, and indeed all of Springbrook National Park is actually world-heritage listed, as are a number of other areas around here. The one that really worries me right now is the Tweed Coast -- it's showing signs of ending up like the Gold Coast (i.e. tacky "resorts" as far as the eye can see) . At least the other areas have mountains to slow people down a little.

Beautiful show, Chris. I'm so glad to hear that your drought has been broken. By the way, does the trail at the bottom of Purlingbrook Falls allow only hiking, or do Mt. bikes go on it too?

World Heritage listed national park, therefore the trails are for walkers only. However, the place where I took that photo is only 300 metres or so from the carpark. There is a 4km walk through the forest that loops around under the falls (the spray from those is cold), which is definitely worth doing at least once.

Those are some great shots. I always enjoy riding through areas like that and just taking in all that beauty. I did not know you were such a ballsy rider Chris. This one is awesome
