Dog - Sweet revenge

Went out on a local ride today in rural area. Experienced quite a few dogs. One dog in particular, young dalmation, rural area, came after me down a STEEP hill Full Blast. Dang! He was moving. I thought if he hits me I'm going down. I let him get about 10 yards away then made a quick turn towards him. Welllll---- He turned slightly, lost his footing and Creamed himself into the ditch. I started to laugh then realized 'that was a huge 'THUD!' (his body hitting the opposite bank). I stopped, went back and he was laying there. He finally got up and limped away. Completely ignoring me. Noticed his tail between his legs big time. Wow, he was surely in shock. I don't think he'll do much more chasing of bikes. The look on his (dog) face - Priceless

thank you for going back, its nice to hear that even tho the
dal chased (young dog makes sense) you checked on him
When I read the title of the thread I was afraid it was gonna be more
dog bashing, clobbered dog with pump/pepperspray/9mm lead/etc.

Lotec, nah- I cared, no animal should be harmed, unless its out to harm me. I truely felt sorry for the poor mutt. I tried to approach him, but he took off. However, that being said, I don't care for the 'biters'.

Hopefully it's a short-term physical shock that the dog will remember for a long time.

Much better than this story...

Man bites dog -- to death, China paper says

April 13, 2004

HONG KONG -- A man reportedly turned the tables on a dog in China, fatally biting it after it attacked.

The Shanghai man was strolling home with friends and was drunk after a night out, the South China Morning Post said. The canine apparently nipped at his fingers and cheek. He jumped on the dog and bit it to death, the paper said.

Did he make stir fry later?

I hate dogs that chase me.

I kind of enjoy being chased by the dogs. Long ago I remember one chasing me for a mile or so. near the end the dog started to get tired so I stopped and patted the dog for a bit.

You know, so many of you must live in places either without leash laws or where people just ignore the leash laws. I have never been chased by a dog around here. I've had dogs behind fences barking wildly at me, and once came upon a large dog dragging a wire lead and its anchor behind him (I stopped and tried to pick up the lead, but the dog was having nothing of that, so I just stood on the lead until a frantic owner ran up and claimed his dog).

Saw the title and didn't read it until now thinking you were going to tell us how you had to remove your SPD cleats from the dogs skull (never know with the internet). Glad your story was nice and funny.

You are a lucky man then or you don't ride in very rural areas. All over here in Southern Illinois people just think it's their god given right to let dogs loose in their yard. They don't seem to think or care that their innocent Fido runs into the road after cyclists. Not that many in most areas but the more rural you ride,WATCH OUT!
