Cycling Book Recommendations?
Hey everyone,
Kinda new to the forums (as evident by post count ). Looks like a great place, I'll definitely be back!Wanted to ask about recommendations for books on cycling. I live in Winnipeg, Canada and am learning more and more about commuting in high traffic areas. This summer my f/t job is a bit under 20km away, all pretty heavy traffic roads.
I've learned quite a bit about bike maintenance and commuting tips just from various websites, but would like a book to read on it. I mean, if theres a rigorous training (or fairly rigorous) when getting a driver's license, I totally think cyclists should do what they can get educated and exhibit standardized behaviour on the roads. So I'm looking for some reading that covers it all, bike maintenance, techniques to riding in traffic, etc, etc.
So far I've heard a fair amount about John Forester's "Effective Cycling" book (linky[amazon.com]), has anyone read it? The TOC shows that the book covers a lot (600 pgs!), everything on what to wear, maintenance, commuting, etc etc
Appreciate any info/personal reviews of cycling literature.

Someone on the forum recommended "effective cycling" to me. I'm crawling through it and have been using as a reference book.. So far, there hasn't been a question that this book has not had the answer for..
