New Cycler, need advice

Hey,

I'm from Israel, and i'm looking for advice.
I'm about to join the Bike world, and i saw few models, and those are the final two :

1. Scott Aspect 30 (2008)
Pros : Shimano LX rear, everything else is Deore, Front is Rock Shox (i think)
Cons : V-Brake
2. GT AVALANCHE 2.0 HDISC (2009)
Pros : Shimano Deore all except front is Altus (M -330), Suntour XCR-LO.
Cons : M-330

Well the diffrent between them is the HDisc at the GT, while LX and All Deore at the Scott...
What do u suggest ?

I like the Scott better personally. RST forks are not good IME.

Nothing wrong with V brakes

The only RST forks I've seen have been cheap rubbish

RST ? is it the "other" shape of the GT ?

According to the seller, this Frame better then the Scott Frame (Power, wieght)

Lets summerize :
Should i choose All Derore and rear LX or HDisc (Tektro Aquila Disc) and almost all Deore ?

Thanks

V brakes are usually just fine. If they get bothersome to keep adjusted, then switch to discs.

Put me in the column of people who think that statement is upside down.

The "love tunnel" as you so eloquently put it, is designed to reduce pressure on the perineum and make the saddle more comfortable. Many people have used ordinary saddles for years without a problem, others swear by the saddles with cut-outs. It is a very personal thing, if you're comfortable, keep it, if not, change it. But if you're new to cycling, ANY saddle will be uncomfortable to begin with, so give it a chance. Your behind will toughen up.

Now there's a can of worms you just opened! Are there helmet laws in Israel? If so, get one that complies with the law. Other than that, it's all about personal preference. Paying more does not get you any more safety, but it might get you extra features. More vents are a good thing, a peak is good, and one of these new-fangled dial-fit systems is brilliant. Even then it will probably take a while to adjust it so the straps don't sit on your ears, but it's worthwhile making it comfortable. I have one of these and I'm happy with it.

You did well! In the UK, that computer sells for the same amount as the helmet! Remember, don't look too much at the screen when you're riding, especially when you want to see how fast you can go, that's what the maximum speed function is for. My first computer didn't have that, and it gets difficult to focus on the bars at 30mph, and not crash. Still, you have the helmet, so you'll be fine!
