Got my new MTB on order and I had planned on putting a bike computer on it just to keep track of my mileage. Just wondering how that will work with the front suspension. Will it even work on the front? Or can the sensor be mounted on the rear? Don't think the wires on the spare computer I have are long enough to reach the rear. Or are computers even used on MTB's?? Not planning on using the bike on any hardcore stuff. Just some easy trails and dirt roads and stuff like that.

Yep the computer will work fine on the front wheel, and they can be very useful mountainbiking, especially if you are on a new trail with a lot of other trails shooting off in all directions. With a computer you can track mileage between different points and avoid getting lost. That and you can see how fast you can go in the rough stuff!

Mounting the sensor on a suspension fork is no big deal, as the wheel travals with the lower part of the fork. You just need to leave a bit of play in the wiring for the fork travel, especailly if you intall it with the bike on the ground.
