Changing bike clubs/Time To Move On

Wondering who else has gone thru this?
With the untimely passing of one of the stalwarts of a club I've been with sence 2002, the wheels began to fall off the club.
Acrimony and infighting began to take their toll.
Refusal by the club to even make an attempt to come into the 21st century with a dedicated web site made it extremely hard for members to get the right info on rides.
Less and less riders (especially those capable of doing 30 miles+ at 15+ mph)showed up for rides.

I joined a much larger (and infinitely better organized) club.
Yet, I find myself lamenting. It's like leaving the neighborhood you grew up in and the kids you grew up with.

I have joined and left several clubs for various reasons. I raced with a particular club for a couple years and then got tired of the politics so I raced independently my last year of racing. I joined a randonneuring club in one province, but moved a few years later so I left that club. Then I joined another randonneuring club where I currently live. But one year, I ended up joining a randonneuring club in the neighboring province, and not my local one ... it just sort of happened. And I've joined several cycletouring clubs, and whether I renew my membership with them depends on the rides they are holding and how interested I am in riding them.

I'll be moving again soon and will likely join clubs in my new area.

I go with the club or clubs that interests me at the time.
