Love over a flat tire.

Has anyone else heard stories of couples who met while one was trying to help the other change a flat? I've only heard this to the degree where the couple don't even have names (a friend of a friend of a friend...). I'm a writer trying to track down such a couple. Anybody know them? Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks and cheers.

I have yet to get a flat, but I've certainly fallen in love with my bike, if that counts.

And moving to General Cycling for a broader audience...

Oh bike love. Sometimes I wonder if my bikes get jealous of each other.

I thought I fell in love with my Road Morph because of flat tires, but I realized it was only lust when I met the Tuffy twins. The 3 of us have been deeply committed to each other in a non-exclusive way ever since. The road morph still gets a weekly workout because, well, nobody's perfect and a guy has to 'top up his tires' occasionally which is easily done with the road morph and a few easy strokes.

I do hear more stories about people helping cute, but unavailable girls with flat tires. I'm just wondering now, am I the only one that's heard of people actually getting together after helping with a flat?

Well, I met my current wife as the result of helping her son with a flat, does that count?

buy good tires and the chances of getting a flat are rare. I just ran over some broken glass today and kept expecting my tires to lose air.

Kind of the opposite, fall in love, then you change all the flats... My wife has a knack for getting flats, and always the rear wheel with the greasy chain, she has never changed a flat in her life.

OP, are you advocating buying low quality tires/tubes to facilitate love? That's a new one.

I met my wife when she fell from her bike right in front of the porch where I was sitting.

Just had our 25th anniversary this week.
