High performance shoes, both SPD & Look compatible.
I'm looking for recommendations for performance shoes that are:
- compatible with two-hole SPD and three-hole Look cleats
- secured with a ratchet and velcro combo straps
- has treads on the outsole for extended walking
I came across Louis Garneau's Montana XT shoes and it says it's compatible with both style cleats but some pictures of the sole doesn't give me that impression. Does anyone have any experiences with such shoes and would like to share it with me?

I can't imagine that. Lots of shows are both SPD and Look compatible but not with treads for continual walking. Treads around the outside of a Look cleat would make the show too wide.

Why you would like to have something like that?
Is not that you can casually change the cleats on your whim. Cleats are made to be mounted once and replaced when worn.

Switching cleats isn't a job that is done between rides. Cleats have to be properly positioned to work the way they should. If you plan of doing this often, you will end up having your cleats in a different spot or at a different angle every time. If you want to use different pedals, buy a pair of shoes for each set. You don't wear the same shoes with a business suit and a pair of shorts. Why would you try to use the same shoes for different pedals?

Look cleats and walking are mutually exclusive.

I was mostly curious if there are even such shoes out there. Garneau has it listed as being compatible on all those cleats styles, so I posted to see if there was anything else like it. I was just as concerned about the 3 hole style on such a shoe with treads...like, how?
I have no intention of constantly switching cleats for every ride but if I have a back up pair of shoes for road that can double as my SPD shoes too, then I would have an option of doing both. I like options!

Specialized has a shoe that might work for you.
The Elite road shoe is compatible with all of those cleats. If you add the SPD pontoon to the SPD cleat then you can walk without issues. The LOOK style cleat is still going to be a problem walking on.
