Giant Transend DX/LX/EX (please share your opinions)
Im searching for the ideal commuter bike for my needs.
I am narrowing down my choices to a Giant Transend (leaning towards the DX). Please share your experiences with the bike. My needs are the following. 1. Commute 5-miles each way in Northern California 2. Looking for a smooth and comfortable ride. Very important 3. A bike that can occasionally deal with the hills, potholes and rails in the streets of san Francisco. 4. A bike that can handle the rain well. thanks |

All three will fit the bill as they say, the price and components and the only big differences. The DX is priced the least. I looked at a LX with front and rear racks and trekking bars and it looks like it will make a good work bike that does just what you have described.

I have, ride the lower end DX for recreation. It's great, light, with good parts, and seems to fit your criteria.
