What tires are these?
 

I'd like to find these again. Unfortunately, they had no name on them. They said Kenda, the size (700x35), and "kevlar lined" or something. I looked all over for a name, but there was none.

They gripped very well on and off road, had relatively low rolling resistance, were very quiet, and showed very little wear after almost 1,000 miles. Compared to the Kenda Kwicks on my cyclocross bike, these were amazing in both performance and durability.

I first got them when I bought my hybrid last summer. I wanted something wider and meatier than the stock tires, so I picked these off the wall at the shop. But the shop guys don't remember what they were.

Thanks, but nothing on their site or catalog matches the tread pattern.

That's what i observed as well, no longer made i assumed,,need to look for a similiar tire pattern,wish u luck..

PS, there is a word on the sidewall in the first pic, can u let us know what all the sidewall say? there has to be some other printing or markings on the tires, you might need to look closer.

You're thinking too hard. There is nothing particularly special, fast or durable about that that 900 other tyres in that same price range will do. The kenda kwick retails for $15 for a reason.

Unfortunately, I sold the bike a few months ago. But I distinctly remember one day being curious exactly what tires I had, so I read the entire sidewall on both sides of both tires. The only information to be found was Kenda, kevlar, and 700x35. I remember this because I thought it was very odd not to have a name or model number.

I never claimed that the Kwick's were not a budget tire.

The reason I'm trying to track these other tires down is because I already had them and I liked how they performed. Getting another set I'm familiar with would be smarter than dumping $60 on a set of "good" tires that may or may not be what I expect. But I guess that's "thinking too hard."

Have to agree- I have Kenda tyres in the shed- Bought on bikes- used once and then replaced with better ones. They are not that grippy- not that durable and definitely have more drag than other tyres of the same size.

And on tyre life- Michelin PR2's- front has the mould marks still on the centre ridge and the rear is showing no signs of wear. I am a light rider but I would have thought that after 2,000 miles I would have been buying new tyres.

They look like the Pyramid Nimbus, except that all the Nimbus tires I can find pages for have a gumwall and no kevlar.

I have seen that tread before in an all-black tire, but it was a few months ago and I don't recall what name it was going under.

Kenda tires are made by Cheng Shin, that makes tires for a dozen other company names as well. Maxxis and Pyramid are two more names.

I bought a Worksman bike with the kevlar tires, and they didn't have any brand-name or model name on them at all either--but the tread is a exact copy of one of the Cheng Shin retro-style cruiser-bike tires. So you can find bicycle tires that have no manufacturer markings (-in the US, manufacturer markings are required on motor vehicle tires, but not on bicycle tires).

The tires you have may have a model number on them--for example, the Pyramid Nimbus 700x35 number is K830. If you google search for "bicycle tire K830" it leads to pages selling the same model-number tire (gumwall, 700x35) but under the Kenda name:

I would agree that they're not anything special but if you still want them and don't like the Nimbus tires, then just start looking at every site that sells cheap bike tires and you might find something closer.
