Nova Scotia Biking

The Wife and I are headed up to Nova Scotia in a couple days and we'd be doing some biking. She is a comfort bike gal only (paved and dirt roads gently slopes). I'll ride off road when we're not riding together. I've looked up some cycleing in NS and have some info. Anyone on this board cycled there or have special tips or advice? It would be much appreciated.

Maybe check with Cyclesmith when you get there or call in advance. They are a great store and should have some ideas for you.

This page has 3 links to information about biking in Nova Scotia. The sites are more about bike touring but I think the links will be of interest to you as well.

Sounds like you guys want to spend time on the Nova Scotia trails - old railroad tracks converted to trails.

This will provide you with all the cycling trails in NS. Be aware that some are not for cycling but for hiking only (too rugged for cycling).

In my area (Halifax county) I suggest:
Atlantic View Trail
Musquodoboit Trail (also alot of rugged backcountry trails here for hiking)

I also suggest that you team up with Nova Scotia Ramblers. The founder of this club, Bob White, is a great guy and a good friend of mine and would love to have you along for one of their rides. They spend their time on these types of trails and quiet back roads.

If you do the Atlantic View or Musquodoboit trail stop in here and say hello. Number 19 Maryetta, last house on the right.

Hope that helps.
