Back pain problem
Hi all.
Does/has anyone else gotten back pain in the kidney area while riding? I have been riding for about 3 years now, completed a few centuries and logged many miles. Just this year, after about 30 to 40 minutes into the ride I start to get a pain in the left kidney area of my back. If i stand on my left peddle straightening the left side of my body the pain seems to go away but comes back after a short while of riding again. I have not started anything new.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I'd get checked out by the doctor, then if you don't already have one, get on a balanced strength training program. I've had back surgery, and I remember my doc telling me that he has had many cycling patients because some think they are fit by having strong quads, but in reality have weak abs and core muscles.

My chiroprator adviced me long time ago to lay flat on my back on a mat, anything not soft, place a rolled bath towel ,as high as you can take without pain, place the pelvis on the towel for 10 minutes, this will losen the disks on the spine which could pinch your nerve to cause pain on certain movement.Good luck.
PS...I tried and it works.
