new to cycling

I am 6' 3" 305lbs. and am new to cycling. I am doing it for excercise but have found it very enjoyable and addictive. I am just riding on the road. I purchased a Diamondback Edgewood from Dicks because it is supposed to be rated at 500lbs and it broke so they gave me a new one. I am already having problems with it clicking and the chain popping off. Should I take it back and demand a refund or is this a good beginner bike?

You may want to look up the page to the Clydesdale Forum. Lot's of good information there for us biguns

Not the best choice, department store bike, you won't get much support there

Good answer. Try reposting over on the Clyde forum for lots of good advice. If you can get your money back, I would. You can get a better bike used for the money. Any bike you can't buy at the department store is likely to be an upgrade--Trek, Giant, Specialized, Cannondale, Gary Fisher, etc.

I started at 330, and I'm down to 215 now. Cycling is a good way to get fit, have fun, make friends, etc. Good luck.
