Bar End Shifters and bull horn bars?

I am planning on building a touring bike over the winter, and although many will have their opinions about this, I would like to put bullhorn handlebars on it. I would also like to have bar end shifters. I have no experience with bar end shifters. Is it possible to put them on bull horn bars, or am I setting myself up for headaches and disaster?

    I dig mine.

Those are Dura-Ace barcons shifting a 2X10 Ultegra drivetrain.

Nice work. If drops aren't part of your touring needs, the set up you've got looks perfect. Shifters, brakes right at your finger tips. Soon as my frame gets out of the paint shop, gonna do the same.
The bicycle is one of the great inventions of mankind. Delights children, challenges young men to feats of daring, and turns old men into boys again.--Me
