Worst accessory: A pulse jet.

Rocket bike FAIYATORIKKUBOBU, for you my friend, one million yen
https://www.crunchgear.com/2009/07/16...e-million-yen/

Probably not a complete hoax, hopefully not the future.

DIY version.

Great. Now cyclists will be confined to only bike-ride at the Bonneville Salt-Flats...

A pulse jet would violate noise ordinances in three or more counties at once, so probably not going to go mainstream.

[edit: According to the Japanese site, it sounds more like it's a turbine than a pulse jet. Still ridiculous, but slightly more reasonable.]

I like the way it's mounted. Right between the legs. Gives a whole new meaning to "Crotch Rocket".

Here it is.

I doubt that it cost a million yen. But it did get the man who made it, (seen riding the bike) a job.

He's now the head rocket designer at Scaled Composites, makers of "Spaceship One".

The D.I.Y. version of that involves a whole lot of burritos and beer the night before.

I think it'd be cool to have one that could push you to, like, 30 mph. But 100+ mph? Nope, not me! I wonder what the fuel usage is?

It looks like something that belongs on "JACKASS." Should tell the inventor to go blow it out his shorts.
