I do about 40 miles on the road three times per week. I try to change my route a bit to keep things interesting. This afternoon (while on a route I hadn't taken before) I was about 10 miles shy of finishing but decided to take a quick break under a nice shade tree (it's 100 degrees out there). A minute or two later another cyclist was passing by so I smiled and waved. The gentleman stopped and asked if I was ok - if I needed help with a flat of anything. I said, "I'm doing great, sir. But thank you for checking on me." And he was off.
I've got to imagine that's pretty typical. I know I've stopped and checked on others. I bet most of us do. I've come to the conclusion that bike people are good people - and I'm glad to be one.
