I dislike clipless pedals on any city bike since I feel they are unsafe.

Every day a winding road
Seems like it would be awfully heavy. I would not want to tow it very far. Neat but far from practical.

100lbs is a bunch.When i trailer up the kids it's about that,if you are climbing at all it is a big chore.You certainly could not tour with it .

I don't like the fact that you have to sleep sitting up. Your rear end becomes very uncomfortable about 4 hours later. I must bettter idea is to just carry a tent that weigths less than 5 lbs.

Apparently he doesn't sleep sitting up. There's a small bubble on the other end for his head (!) and presumably his legs extend out from the other end. But yeah, I think a tent would be better. For the 45kgs he's hauling now, one could tow a gigantic tent and other camping gear on a trailer.

If I was home free, that would be amazing to have. I'd build up one that's far lighter though. Less MDFB, thick wood, and other needlessly heavy stuff. Use A tarp or something of similar weight for the exterior. Having a home like shelter would be great. People live with about that much space per person in many places in the world. If he actually lived in that, I'd applaud him. Although there's some mess about Swine flu and an apocalypse, which is a bit off the deep end.
