Converting my old road/cross bike to...?

Does it make sense to modify my old aluminum Tsunami cyclocross/road bike into a commuter, utility bike, or some other style bike? The frame, which is a bit small on me, is aluminum but it's equipped with an old but fully operational Integra group, froglegs canti breaks, selle smp saddle, speed plays and, because it seemed originally designed for cycylocross, there's plenty of room for knobby-ish tires. I know I could keep it like it is and use it as a training bike or a twitchy alternative to my steel touring rig but I'm not much of a racer these days and I was hoping to have some fun with it, maybe making the ride less aggressive and more speedy yet comfortable. Or should I just sell it? Any ideas?

It would make a very nice commuter bike. You may want to add fenders or a rack (or both). Fenders are very nice for keeping splashes off you. You may also want to change the pedals. That's about all you would need for a conversion.

You could check out the Hybrid Forum. We have a lot of folks there who convert all sorts of bicycles into hybrids and commuters. Which can be both quite easily.
