Las Vegas Biking

My wife and I are driving to Las Vegas March 24 - 29. We will be taking our mtn bikes, and are interested in what CASUAL biking/bike trails there might be in the area.

No, not mtn biking this time. Think of the mtn bikes as "comfort bikes" and that we have a desire to stay away from roads with a lot of cars, etc. Compare this to our trip a couple of years ago to Tucson where we daily rode in the Saguaro National Park East - a lovely 10 mile trip through gorgeous desert country - and we did this at 6:00 am every morning.

Anyone here from Vegas??

Anything like that there?

Thanks

No, I don't gamble!! We are going for the shows, etc.

I have just located the "Red Rocks Canyon Recreation Area" which has a 13 mile paved loop.

Anyone ever do this?

The 13 mile senic loop is arguably the best road ride in the Las Vegas area.I would not label it begginer as it is quite hilly -at least a couple thousand feet of gain in the first couple miles. The loop is one way with traffic depending on time of week and season.A local bike shop called escape the city streets offers tours, bike rentals, and shuttle service for on and off road.I believe the web site is escapeadventures.com . Hope that helps.
