Schwinn Airdyne for Winter fitness

I have a road bike (Felt) and mt bike (Schwinn) but with the bad winter weather, been spending time indoors on my Schwinn Airdyne.
Been noticing some pain in my left knee. The pedals do seem to be at a different position in relation to my seat, than on other bikes. Just wondering if this might be causing the knee pain.
Does anyone else train with an Airdyne during the winter?

I used to use one, it positions you upright and puts the entire load on your legs. I got rid of mine a few years ago not due to any pain but it was boring.
