Removing stickers from Velocity Deep-V rims

Removing stickers from Velocity Deep-V rims
My lovely new purple rims have an ugly yellow Velocity sticker on them. It is tenaciously sticky. I fear destroying the purple finish if I try to aggressively remove the sticker.
Any tips for removing? (or is the finish indestructible?)

Very strange. All the stickers on my Velocity rims have just peeled off by hand.
The hair drier and GooGone method is tried and true. That's what I've used on my non-Velocity rims.
The powdercoat finish is quite durable, but not indestructible. Mine have gotten scratched. (I have one set in Electric Blue and another in Spangled Silver.)

Stickers on my Velocity Thracian wheel came off easily with the hair drier followed by goo gone method, as above. Same with the stickers on four Jet Set wheels.

I submerged the decal portion of my wheels underwater for about and hour and they peeled off quite easily afterwards. The goo gone and hair dryer method probably works just as fine as well.

How is the surface under the sticker? I haven't peeled off the stickers on my V's but have on Mavic CXP30 rims. GAWD what a terrible looking weld underneath. Lots of voids and pits!

They are pretty hideous. I've been thinking of mine as extra visibility during the day and just deal with them. I've also been known to clean them up so the yellow is brighter.

i have JUST struggled with these stickers today....
after stupidly chipping away at one sticker for an hour with my fingernails, i decided to go out and get some goo gone.
this helped, but it was still lots and lots of chipping away at the sticker. fingernails hurt.
THEN im like FUUUUUUUU@K and ripped my shirt like the incredible hulk out of agony and pain. after the dust settled i decided to check bike forums and saw this thread.
ahhh, hair dryer. im an idiot for not thinking of this. get the glue on the sticker warm and sticky instead of hard and solid.
too bad i dont have a hair dryer (been shaving my head for years)
ANYWHO IN A LONG WINDED MANNER, THE BEST WAY TO GET THAT STICKER OFF IF YOU DONT HAVE A HAIRDRYER IS THIS:
hold it under warm/hot water faucet for a minute.
peeled off incredibly easy after that. i was both thrilled and severely annoyed that i had spent so long chipping at the sticker with fingernails. so dont do that.
and yes the goo gone gets those rubbery bits off nicely. so does the end of a pencil eraser!
one thing: i think if your sticker peeled off no problem right off the bat, it might be because the rim got real warm while shipping and weakened the glue bond or something?

I use an exacto knife to lift the edges. I have delicate fingers and nails!
