    PITA!

    As business and commerce models change it's one of the things that local merchants have to put up with. Essentially you are stealing one of the service advantages that the LBS can do better than Bikes Direct.

    Yep. The LBS's know what they are up against in online retailers and on price alone, they can't compete. Service and support is really all they have to sway a buyer and making the buyer see that is part of the sales job.

    Lots of people do their homework at LBS's and buy online. They certainly won't be valued (discount) LBS customers when the time for maintenance comes.

    There is a crime called theft of service. Look it up. Restaurants deal with it often.
    Bikes use brakes to stop.

    If your bike has breaks, don't ride it.
