I tested it on my current route. It failed. A full report is in the commuting forum.

But as they say, it's still in Beta, and there is a large button to press if you have corrections and shortcuts.

this is freaking AWESOME, i was hoping for this a while ago. It mapped my route from work to home almost perfect, including a bike trail along the way. +1 for GOOGLE.
