Finding 4
on a bike I am riding more, my favorite gear seems to be 4. that is: the small ring up front and 1 down from the highest gear in the back, and so ... "4" (1985 cromoly 10-spd)
the bike also has downtube shift levers so I'm getting use to 1) finding the levers and 2) finding 4.
I'm getting better at it and it seems as the day progresses I'm in 5 more and even use the big ring for some riding other than just downhills.
but when I'm in doubt or it's late in the day, I can rest by telling myself, just find 4 and spin for a while.
anyway that's "finding 4" it's been on my mind for the past few rides on this bike and I wanted to just put it out there. anyone else have a favorite gear? I'm a little embarrassed than it's such a low gear but I am what I am ... :-)
