    Older and Bike SAize

As cyclist get older do some find the desire to downsize frame? I don't mean between 18 and 40 years, I mean in the 50s and 60s? Do people find themselves wanting a smaller bike? Just wondering, I have heard this is so but have no evidence to support it either way.

I've had several since 1999 but have settled on my beloved 2001 Litespeed Tuscany and my latest, a 2013 Cannondale CAAD 10.

Seems to me you're asking this in the wrong forum (hint: 50+ forum).
I'm 65 and have no desire to downsize my frame. Still riding my 56cm road bike and loving it.

Those old people over on Fifty Plus will tell you a thing or two, I bet!
Can't see getting a smaller size bike, as long as I can move the seat a little bit closer to the bottom bracket as time goes on.
However, I am not shrinking and don't plan on shrinking!

I went the other way, from 61-62 to 64-65 (at about age 60, when I bought my midlife crisis bike). but i think i twas because i was mis-sized for 30 years. I'm 6'4", and most shops don't carry bikes that really fit. They'd promise to put a longer seatpost on a too-small bike, and I'd say, "OK, great, thanks." But when I followed Grant Petersen's recommendations on my Atlantis, I was instantly more comfortable than I'd ever been.
