Would anyone in Europe/Germany be willing to do me a very big favor? =)
Recently, I had a very very nice pair of wheels stolen from me only days after I built them up. As fate would have it, I was looking for a locking skewer solution for solid axle hubs for a long time and only just found them days after the wheels were stolen.
The only problem is, they have no U.S. distributer so there is no way for me to get my hands on them. The company is called Pitlock.
My question now is - would anyone on the other side of the pond be willing to make some kind of deal with me to buy a set from your local shop, then ship them to San Francisco where I live? I would be willing to pay you for your time, and you would be helping so much I cannot even tell you.
Thanks!

Those are awesome for road bikes, but this is for my track bike. I owned a pair of kryptonites and have nothing but good things to say about them. Pitlock is the only company who makes a lock for solid axles (which are 10x1mm found on most track hubs).

why dont you send them an e-mail and see if they will ship to USA. If they won´t you can get them to ship to me and I wil send them on to you if you want. If it is only possible to order with the LBS I will go down to the LBS and try to order. I have to warn you though that my LBS are not very impressive. The last thing I ordered were 2 Nokia 296s spike tyres on 30th June and the came last week. Just to give you some idea of the level of service we are dealing with.

I just spoke to the guy at Pitlock on the phone. He said that they are prepared to deliver to the USA. The only problem is that they do not take credit cards as their credit card turnover is too low. Therefore you would have to either do a bank transfer or send them cash preferably Euros. Check the bank transfer and post charges as he said they can be expensive.

FYI your own bank should be able to do the bank transfer, usually costs around the $30 mark to transfer up to $2000.
Also it might be worth checking out paypal as they say you can send money to anyone with an email address.

Pitlocks are the best locking skewers, hands down. Unfortunately, as this thread already points out, no US distributor, no credit card sales, no PayPal service either. I already have two bikes equipped with Pitlock skewers (bought when they still had a US distributor, about three years ago) and I recently wanted to get another set for a third bike.
The problem with the money transfer Pitlock wants you to use is that it costs about $30 just for the transfer - more than the parts I wanted were going to cost - so I ended up passing. It's really too bad Pitlock isn't more active in the US market, which could potentially be huge with the right promotion.
