Seasonal pricings for bikes?

HUH? Is that even true?, i looked at a Trek navigator 3.0 2 weeks ago,it was $529, now the salesman on the phone said it's $629, about a hundred bucks more than the MSRP.

Depends on availability and who has the cash. I have seen plenty of things go for much more than MSRP when the demand exists. Look at all the people that line up to get the latest and greatest gaming device, buy a couple and have no problem selling them for much more than they paid for them. Those of us that wait a bit usually pay a whole lot less.

If you really want the Navigator, go in there and try to haggle him a little. Let him know it was MSRP + 0 last month and at that price, you will buy the bike. Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Or if you like to gamble, wait until early next year and see if they have any "leftover" ones and get it at a discount

I ride XL bikes and have gotten a few of mine that way. The best deal being my 1990 Giant Excursion. I got it for ~50% off retail in 1992.

There is probably more than one bike shop that has that Trek in your area. Look at other shops.

Got a car? take a road trip... the production bicycle market can't be that hot. If it is that hot, just wait 5 minutes.

Look at it this way: is a 145 mile drive + time invested worth $100 to you? Plus if anything goes wrong you'd have to do that trip a couple more times possibly.

Yes, nearest Trek dealer is 110 miles away, i do go to Memphis once in a while to shop/eat,so it's not a big deal. I bought my FX from there last January and never had any problem with it.
