One lap around this lake is about 12 miles. Beautiful scenery, good roads, little traffic, moderate hills, friendly bikers. What more could I ask?

That's Hwy 11 between Saskatchewan River Crossing and Nordegg ... in the Canadian Rockies. I used to live just east of it and went riding there whenever I could.

Most of my favorite roads are also excellent roads for motorcycling.
My all-time favorite, (better than anything in Colorado, better than Blue Ridge Parkway (even the Tail of the Dragon) is Highway 36 between Red Bluff and Eureka, up in Northern California...

It's even better than the Big Sur Hwy, which is saying a lot...

Sequoia Nat'l Forest is another memorable ride...

Palomar Mountain will be a great spot to ride after we have an Ebola outbreak or devastating Earthquake to thin out the ranks of irresponsible sport-motorcyclists...

Circle R, West Lilac and Couser Canyon Roads are beautiful too...

Elfin Forest Road & Highland Valley Road to Ramona is another fun & idyllic ride.

I'm hoping that Arizona will counter-boycott us wacko Californians this summer, so PCH won't be jammed up with diesel-smoke belching dualies, monster trucks, and RV's...

I love that road. My family and I drove through there a few years ago and we stopped to take a picture of that exact sign.

Locally, my favorite is a loop out of West Little Rock to Pinnacle Mountain and then around Lake Maumelle. It's 40 miles of varying scenery and a serious test of bicycling.
