2009 Giant Defy 1 opinions

Found a mint condition 2009 Giant Defy 1 in my size. The bike has been ridden 3 or 4 times and the owner has the original receipt.

He'll take $750 for it. Is that a reasonable price?

Is this a good intermediate road bike?

I'm not looking to race it, just bring up my endurance level for mountain biking.

That's a steal at almost half price. You get full 105 groupo and Mavic wheelset. Between the the triple and the eyelets/brazeons,it's suitable for anything short of CAT I road racing.

Is the Defy considered an entry level road?

The Defy is entry level, but the 105 group on it rocks. You won't get a much better quality aluminum frame, although the CAAD9 worshippers might kill me for saying it. One of my buddies and frequent riding partner has one, and it's super stiff with a nice relaxed geometry and good quality construction. It's at least as good as my Specialized Allez. For $750, go for it.

Got it today. The bike is almost brand new and a computer was included. Very sweet bike. Thanks.

I'm a little late to the party here, but I have a 2010 Defy 1 and its a pleasure to ride. I think you'll be quite pleased with your purchase! Great price too!
